Cronulla RSL Proudly Supports Cronulla Outrigger Canoe Club with Vital Funding

Through the ClubGRANTS program, Cronulla RSL is proud to support the Cronulla Outrigger Canoe Club in their mission to strengthen their presence in the canoeing community.

In the past, the canoe club faced logistical challenges, relying on borrowing trailers from other clubs to transport their canoes to regattas. While this allowed them to participate, it was a time-consuming and complicated process that limited their flexibility and independence.

Thanks to the generous support from sponsors, including Cronulla RSL, the club now owns their trailer, which significantly enhances their ability to compete in local and regional regattas, proudly representing the Sutherland Shire.

This new trailer has not only relieved the logistical burdens but also boosted the morale of the team. It has allowed them to focus on training and competition without the added stress of borrowing equipment or worrying about transportation. With their own trailer, the club can now easily travel to events, further strengthening their involvement in the sport.

The impact of this support will be felt for years to come, providing a lasting resource for the club to grow, attract new members, and better serve the local community. Looking ahead, the Cronulla Outrigger Canoe Club’s next goal is to fundraise for the purchase of a new canoe, which will allow the team to further develop their skills, increase participation, and remain competitive in both local and regional regattas.

In addition, the club is working to find a suitable storage solution for their equipment, ensuring that the new trailer and future canoes are safely housed and easily accessible.
