Cronulla RSL Spreads Holiday Cheer with 2024 'Trees of Hope' Campaign

Cronulla RSL’s beloved Trees of Hope Campaign has returned for 2024, bringing holiday cheer and raising awareness for 10 local not-for-profit organisations.

Since its inception in 2016, Trees of Hope has brightened the festive season, transforming the club’s foyer into a stunning Christmas tree display. Each tree is uniquely decorated by a local charity, showcasing ornaments that reflect their vital work in the Sutherland Shire.

Members, guests, staff, and board members are invited to vote for their favorite tree, with the most popular entries winning a share of over $8,000.

“Our campaign not only celebrates the holiday season but highlights the incredible contributions of these charities,” said Nathan Whiteside, Cronulla RSL CEO. “It’s a wonderful way for these organisations to gain exposure and share their stories with our community.”

Participating organisations this year include:

  • Cronulla Community Café: Offering free food services to those in need.

  • Dandelion Support Network Inc: Supporting children and families with essential items.

  • Hopefield: Assisting individuals experiencing poverty, distress, or isolation.

  • Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation: Empowering youth impacted by family mental illness.

  • Learning Links: Helping children with learning difficulties achieve their potential.

  • Sailability Cronulla: Providing access to sailing for those with disabilities or disadvantages.

  • Endeavour SKWAD: Funding programs for students in support units at mainstream schools.

  • Stellar Experiences: Creating inclusive social, travel, and individual experiences.

  • Sutherland Shire Council Animal Shelter: Finding homes for abandoned animals.

  • Cronulla RSL Sub-Branch: Supporting local veterans and their families.

(Surfers Rescue 247: have unfortunatley had to withdraw in 2024)

This year, members & guests who vote also have a chance to win a Cronulla RSL restaurant voucher. See T&Cs.
