Sutherland 2 Surf Shake Out

Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting a fantastic ‘shake-out’ event, coordinated by the Strava Sharks, to help prepare runners for the much-anticipated Sutherland to Surf fun run.

A Prelude to the Sutherland to Surf

The Sutherland to Surf is a cherished community event that has been bringing runners together since 1972. Spanning an 11km route from Sutherland to Cronulla, this fun run attracts participants from all walks of life. This year, the event saw an impressive turnout of over 7,500 enthusiastic runners, all eager to challenge themselves and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

The Shake-Out Event: A Perfect Prep

Our recent shake-out event on the Cronulla RSL bowling green was designed to give local runners a chance to warm up and connect before the big race. The event was a hit, with members from various local running groups gathering for a relaxed yet invigorating shake-out run. It was a great opportunity for runners to ease into their training, prepare their legs for the challenging course ahead, and bond with fellow running enthusiasts.

The event was made even more special with generous giveaways and post-run nutrition, courtesy of our wonderful event sponsors. A big thank you to them for their support and contribution!

Celebrating Success and Community Spirit

After the Sutherland to Surf, the celebrations continued on the Cronulla RSL deck. Runners, friends, and family gathered to bask in the sunshine, enjoy good vibes, and reflect on the day’s achievements. It was the perfect way to unwind and celebrate the hard work and determination that went into the race.

Congratulations to everyone who participated, especially those who smashed their personal bests! Your dedication and spirit embody the true essence of community and sportsmanship.

At Cronulla RSL, we’re proud to support events that bring our community together and celebrate individual and collective achievements. Here’s to many more events, runs, and shared moments of joy.
