Thank you, Sailability

Cronulla Sailability donate their time to enrich the lives of people of all abilities with the sport of sailing. Thanks to their efforts the elderly, the financially/ socially disadvantaged as well as people with physical challenges get access to the sport.

Because of the support of local businesses and organisations within the Sutherland Shire community, the group have 6 Hansa 303s Access Dinghy 303`s to sail. Plus, everyone is provided with a life jacket and there is always a support vessel on hand to assist. The Hansa 303s are specially designed for disabled sailors, allowing them to sit alongside a crew member.

Volunteers have taken out students from local schools each term throughout the year, creating an experience that has left the students with some wonderful memories. Students from Endeavour SKWAD recently made these hand made cards, to show their appreciation to the volunteers.

In 1991 Sailability was introduced to Australia and now there are over fifty groups covering every State and Territory.

Sailabilty Cronulla have a fantastic team of volunteers who generously donate their time and help with a range of jobs. For example, setting up/packing down the boats, signing participants in and operating radios. However, they are always looking for more helpers. In particular, skippers with sailing experience.
