Manic on the News!

Mike Dalton, Nine News, visited us recently to meet the Veteran Military War Dog, Manic.

10 year old Manic, adopted from a pound in 2015, was trained by the ADF to be an assault dog, to assist in military operations beyond the scope of the Federal Police. Manic then ultimately served in Iraq with the Tactical Assault Group East (TAG) in 2016, then the Counter Terrorism team until his retirement in 2020.

Manic now lives with his family in the Sutherland Shire, and is helping Cronulla RSL raise awareness about the impact that war has on animals. Including, the limited support Military War Dogs receive upon their retirement. To date, Cronulla RSL has raised over $22,000 to support the Australian War Animal Memorial Organisation and Manic.

Manic also commemorates his fellow brave animal friends each year, at the Club’s War Animal Day.

In 2023, the Club recieved recognition by ClubsNSW Awarded the ‘Heart of the Community’ Award.
