Cronulla RSL Seniors Festival
In March, Cronulla RSL organised a delightful Seniors Festival at the club, showcasing their dedication to honoring and celebrating seniors within the community. This special event, held at our iconic waterfront venue, featured a range of engaging activities and entertainment tailored specifically for seniors. Events included:
Coffee & A Cuddle, featuring Paws Pet Therapy: Attendees felt the uplifting magic of pet therapy on the Bay Level
Exercise For Seniors, presented by Swell Physiotherapy: The talk was 'Exercise for Seniors’ and we covered the best exercises to do for osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, sarcopenia, falls risk, and other health conditions. We also clarified some myths and conflicting messages about which exercises are safe. Everyone had a go at some upper and lower body strength exercises, everyone did really well!
The long journey home: The Story of the unknown serviceman from HMAS Sydney II, presented by Gillian Lewis: Guests heard how science and perseverance helped solve the mystery of the unknown serviceman found in a carley float off Christmas Island in February 1942.
