Cronulla RSL Swimmers Dominate at the 89th AIF Carnival

Cronulla RSL is incredibly proud to support our Swimming Club, which has once again delivered an outstanding performance at the AIF Swimming Association Carnival—the oldest swimming association in Australia. Held this year in Coffs Harbour, this prestigious event saw 38 of our swimmers take to the pool, competing with dedication and sportsmanship.

Our team made history by securing the Combined Pointscore Trophy across all handicap races (25M, 50M, 100M), a testament to the collective effort of every single swimmer.

Outstanding Individual & Team Achievements:

  • Gosford Cup Relay Champions – Gemma Mable, Jason Mable, Rob Alchin & Shane Birdsall

  • Tobruk Shield Relay Placings – Greg Prowse, Bill Bertram, Gary Trompp & Dave Dopson

  • Standout Individual Performances:

  • John Butterfield (85-89 Yrs) – Gold in 25M Freestyle At 88 years young, John is swimming stronger than ever!

  • Gemma Mable (30-34 Yrs) – Gold in 50M Freestyle

  • Peter Green (65-69 Yrs) – Silver in 50M Freestyle

  • Captain Lisa Hedge (60-64 Yrs) – Silver in 50M Freestyle
